Have An Old Fashioned Christmas - Party Games

Christmas Gifts

To make your Christmas party a thorough success, there's nothing like having plenty of variety. We hope you'll have a great Christmas party with these games! Many would be suitable for parties anytime throughout the year so we hope you'll find other opportunities to play them too.

TOTAL RECALL

This game is suitable for all ages. After each player is given a piece of paper and a pencil, a tray is brought in with about twenty small articles on it. If it's a Christmas party, the items could be a Christmas bow, a candy cane, a piece of tinsel, etc.

The tray is placed in full view of everyone and left there for one minute, during which time no one is allowed to write anything down but must simply look at the contents of the tray.

At the end of the viewing time, the tray is carried away and the players must write down as many of the articles as they can remember. Only a certain amount of time is allowed for this and whoever remembers the most articles wins the game.

GUESSING WITH WOODEN SPOONS

One of the guests is blindfolded and sits upon a chair. He or she is given two large wooden spoons, such as those in common use in every kitchen for stirring puddings, cakes and so on.

One after another, the other boys and girls come up to the blindfolded sitter and stand or kneel before him/her and he/she has to guess who each one is by simply feeling him or her with the wooden spoons.

The task is very much more difficult than it looks and is great fun as the spoons go over the face and body in an attempt of the blindfolded person to discover the identity of the other.

Of course, any outburst of laughter when the spoons are going over our face would disclose our identity, so we must try to keep perfect silence.

When anyone's identity is guessed, he/she is blindfolded and becomes the guesser. We must be careful when using the spoons to touch another person with them quite lightly and any player wearing glasses should remove them.
