To make your Christmas party a thorough success, there's nothing like having plenty of variety. We hope you'll have a great Christmas party with these games! Many would be suitable for parties anytime throughout the year so we hope you'll find other opportunities to play them too. |
FEATHERS & FANSYou need a feather for this game. Fans can be made from stiff pieces of paper - make one fan for each player. Place a strip of tape across the floor to divide the room and put half the players on one side and half on the other. Toss the feather into the air and keep it up with the fans. The feather, while in flight, must not be touched. No players must leave their side of the line, but should do their best to stop the feather sailing across it. Whichever side the feather finally lands on loses the game. MEMORY GAMEPlayers sit in a circle. One person begins by making one small motion - clapping once, touching their nose, or blinking their eyes, etc. The player to the right must now do exactly the same motion, just once. Continue counterclockwise around the circle with each player exactly repeating the same motion. When it's the first player's turn again, he/she repeats the original motion. Then the next player must perform the same motion and add a new one. These two motions are then repeated around the circle. Any player who doesn't perform the various motions in the correct order or if they use the wrong hand for a one-handed motion is out. Continue around the circle, having a different player add the new motion each time. The last player to remain in the game is the winner and he/she really deserves a prize for theye may have had to remember 10 or 15 different motions in the proper sequence! PEANUT RACEMark off a starting line and a finish line in a room. Line up one peanut in its shell and a pencil for each player along the starting line.
Explain to the players that the peanuts must be pushed, not hit, with the pencil until they reach the finish line. The first player who pushes their peanut across the finish line is the winner.
PENNY HUNTHave all players stand in a circle in the centre of the room. As they watch, walk around the room, placing one penny for each player in a different spot. When all the pennies have been placed, tell the players to get ready, set and go! They must each pick up a penny, then sit in the centre of the room. The first time, there will be a penny for each player. Ask the players to return the pennies to you and again stand in a circle in the centre of the room. Place the pennies around the room again but this time, have one or two fewer pennies than players. Whoever doesn't find a penny is out. Use care in selecting "hiding places" to avoid bumped heads. When you're down to the last two players, don't let them see the hiding places you select. Occasionally place a penny on top of the head of a player who has been eliminated earlier in the game. The last player to remain in the game is the winner. |
