Have An Old Fashioned Christmas - Party Games

Christmas Sleigh

PUSS IN THE CORNER

In this game, all the players pretend to be mice, except one, who is the cat.

The cat stands in the middle of the room. Each mouse stands in a corner and while there, the cat can't touch them. But when they run across the room to change corners with one another, the cat may capture the mice.

No mouse should venture from a corner until he/she has made signs to another mouse with whom he/she would like to change houses or that little mouse may find him or herself halfway across the room with no corner to run to.

The mouse that is caught must now become the cat.

SANTA SAYS

A popular party game 100 years ago was called Simon Says - let's play it at Christmas!

One player is "Santa" and stands facing all the other players. Explain to the group that you are two people - one is called Santa and when Santa tells them to do something, they must do it. But when you tell them to something, they mustn't follow your instructions.

Now Santa tells the group to clap your hands, touch your toes, or turn in a circle by saying "Santa says clap your hands" or "Santa says touch your toes", or "Santa says turn in a circle".

As the group follows your instructions, give the command "Touch your nose". All players who touch their nose are eliminated because Santa didn't give the order. Plays who don't follow commands preceded by "Santa says" are also out.

The last player to remain in the game is the winner.
