MY SEARCH FOR A FAMILY HEIRLOOM
I have spent over 60 years of my life in a search for my most cherished personal possession, a Stradivarius Concert Violin, which has been handed down in my family since the 1700s. I have been told that placing this information on the Internet and reaching out to people may help me in this search.
I was born in Austria and was residing in Neustadtl (STRAZ), Czechoslovakia in 1945, when I took the required legal steps to obtain permission to transport sixteen parcels of property, our family possessions, back to Austria.
I was required to present my family's possessions, together with an itemized list of the properties and other necessary documents and made my application in November of 1945. Our possessions were carefully examined and I was detained for a period of seventeen hours waiting for the permission I sought.
One of the properties included in this list; my most cherished personal possession, was a Violin built by Antonius Stradivarius in 1734, which had been handed down from my Great Grandfather or before.
During the period of detainment, my Violin was taken from among the other items and removed to another room. There, someone began to play on my Violin without tuning the instrument. It was like my instrument was crying out for me.

At that point, I was told to take the remaining parcels away. However, my Stradivarius Violin was not returned to me and no explanation was offered. My Stradivarius Concert Violin, 2 Bogen (2 bows) and container were marked out with red pencil after the list was actually completed and verified by two officials in charge of the examination.
All attempts to recover my Violin were without success at that time, for political reasons and occupation by troops of the CSR have proven futile throughout many years. It has now been over 60 years since my Violin was taken.
I am hopeful that recent changes in Czechoslovakia will open new avenues and beseech anyone reading this to assist me in locating my family heirloom through the Internet.
Trusting that intelligent persons would not destroy such an irreplaceable instrument, my plea goes to the holder of our property to display compassion and return my Stradivarius Violin to me so that it may remain in my family. This is my hope and wish.
If you have any information that may lead to the recovery of this Violin, please send an email message to heirloom@cdnbizwomen.com
This case is in the hands of INTERPOL and there is optimism that my Stradivarius Violin will be recovered. Any information is appreciated.
I will be eternally grateful if you will help me by placing the small logo on your web site, in the hope that someone somewhere will read this message and have some answers for me.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and for Caring.
